Our Garden
A garden with forty seasons in the leaf.
Planted in 1984 on the northern edge of Bangladesh, our estate has grown from a single hectare into twelve garden blocks — each with its own character.
The land
Tetulia sits at 300–500m above sea level, wrapped by the Mahananda river and the Himalayan foothills. The soil is loamy, well-drained, and mildly acidic — the exact profile Camellia sinensis loves.
The bushes
Our oldest bushes are third-generation TV1 and BT2 cultivars, replanted every 40 years in a strict rotation to keep the leaf character sharp.
The people
Over 200 gardeners tend the estate — many the children and grandchildren of the original crew who planted the first field in '84.
